AN INTERVIEW WITH L SPEED CREATOR

You have seen and heard what wonders could L Speed bring in our previous review of L Speed. L Speed itself is a rather simple app, who was once a simple script that modifies system files and variables, this enables it to optimize the performance on your phone and it also improves the battery life of your phone, that’s a neat thing if I say so.
Now, you might ask, what did the developers do to make all of these possible ? I mean, it’s not something you can do overnight, right ? How can anyone even find out how these tiny unnoticeable variables and files hiding behind the curtains of system partition works ?
Hence why I bring you forth onto this post to sate all of your question regarding L Speed, about how it was created, and other tiny bits about the app and the creator of L Speed himself. L Speed main creator and developer, known to the public view as Paget96, which is also a recognized contributor in the well-known XDA-Developers forum. Paget96, or also called with his name, Danijel Markov (referred as his nickname, Dan, in this post). Dan is kind enough to spare some of his busy time to talk with us on this small interview, in which we thank him for doing so. Dan agrees to have his message modified to correct the spelling and grammatical errors so everyone could read and understands the messages.
Without any further ado, here’s the nice small interview Software Pen wrote. We would thank Dan once more for all of this.
WHAT STARTED L SPEED ?
L Speed started when I was coming home from my ex-girlfriend, the lengthy travel made me requires something to entertain myself. For some reason, the one that entertained me was BASH, also known as Linux scripting code. At the time I had an old LG Optimus L7 (LG P705), which was extremely slow at performing tasks, I did some research on tweaking the Linux kernel and started tweaking the kernel using the script. I published it on the device (LG Optimus L7) forum at XDA-Developers, and later it became known worldwide for (nearly) all Android device. On the early stages, the script was a single .sh (Shell file, script code for Linux) file, later on as I worked on improving the script and increasing my knowledge, I expanding it to multiple .sh files, turned it into a flashable zip, which then made universal (flashable on all CPU architectures). The huge step was made when the multiple .sh files was then minimized back into one single .sh file but still contains many of the function. Recently it became an app, accidentally to be exact.
ANY DIFFICULTIES THAT YOU FACED WHILE DEVELOPING L SPEED ?
Yes, every now and then you will be facing some obstacle in programming, same thing applies in the development of L Speed. Sometime you need to spend more time to fix an issue, I remember that a night was spent sleeplessly to develop L Speed, reducing the time to meet up with friends. Another difficulties was my work environment, L Speed was once worked on a paper and then retyped manually on a phone due to the nonexistence of a computer to work on, now I have a properly working PC which makes things a lot easier to do.
WHERE DID YOU LEARN ALL OF THESE ?
The main source for learning is definitely Google, there I found the stepping stone to learn everything, including some beginners guide, from which I started learning things. Over the course of time, I founded StackOverflow which is a nice place to find solutions for the problems on building L Speed, and Android Developers is also another site to search for fixes.
HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NORMALLY SPEND ON L SPEED ?
I can say a lot of time went on to develop L Speed, around 4 or 7 hours a day is mostly spent.
ANY FUTURE PLANS FOR L SPEED ?
I don’t have any grand or serious plans, just to satisfy users needs, the ideas for new features came along the time with feedback from the users themselves.
DO YOU HAVE ANY WORDS FOR THE READERS OUT THERE ?
If you plan on doing any kind of Android development, just start doing it, every beginning would be very difficult, and this one certainly would be for sure. Don’t get disappointed if you can’t fix something or doesn’t know anything, solutions are everywhere. Do a Google search, check sites such as Stackoverflow, you will find the answers for your problems.
THANK YOU, DAN
Well folks, that concludes our interview with the kind and generous Dan, may his work shall prosper and improves more. The interview might be a little short, but we don’t want to be a huge problem for Dan, considering he’s a busy person with stuff to do.
